"Thank you, Deb, for the excellent advice!" -R.G.

I believe it's important to tune into the infinite wisdom of the full moon and notice how it affects us.

Because if the moon has the power to move the tides, then imagine what it does to us as well. After all, we're more than half full of water ourselves.

January - WOLF MOON

NOW: Use this energy to strengthen social bonds with your "pack."

February - SNOW MOON

THEN: Named for the most snowfall during the winter season. This moon reminded tribes to be best prepared for the snow and to protect themselves against the harsh elements.

NOW: Use this energy to get cozy and invite warmth into your heart.

March - WORM MOON

THEN: Named for the transition from winter to spring when the earthworms began to appear. As the ground softened, tribes prepared for planting...with patience and anticipation.

NOW: Use this energy to plant seeds of kindness, to care for oneself and to practice patience.

April - PINK MOON

THEN: Named for the first wildflowers to appear (pink creeping moss phlox). Their appearance was the first indication that spring had officially sprung.

NOW: Use this energy to embrace a sense of hope. Initiate growth in your life and step into your rebirth.

May - FLOWER MOON

THEN: Named for the profusion of flowers everywhere. This was a sign that spring brings with it endless possibilities and an intense desire to create.

NOW: Use this energy to notice beauty all around you. Tap into the sheer joy of a profound connection with Mother Nature.

June - STRAWBERRY MOON

THEN: Named for the summer season when the plants overflowed with ripened berries. This time meant a sweetness would be added to balance the hard work.

NOW: Use this energy to include sweetness in your life. Use this season to slow your pace and enjoy the lazy days of summer.

July - BUCK MOON

THEN: Named for the season when male deer grew new antlers to replace those they shed. The old antlers provided nutrients for the soil.

NOW: Use this energy to shed what no longer serves you. Let the Universe whisk it away so you can make room for amazing things to come.

August - STURGEON MOON

THEN: Named for the sturgeon which were plentiful at this time of the year. These fish fed the tribes back in the day. Today, they are harvested for caviar.

NOW: Use this energy to tap into your strength and maximize your resilience. Take the time to connect with the eternal wisdom of Mother Earth.

September - CORN MOON

THEN: Named for the staple that was a part of every tribe's diet. Harvesting corn was a way to feed the family as well as bond with each other in the process.

NOW: Use this energy to gather together. The season of fall invites us to reap what we've sown and to plan for something even better in the future.

October - HUNTER'S MOON

THEN: Named for the season to begin hunting in preparation for the winter months. The brightness of the moon assisted with hunting late into the day.

NOW: Use this energy to hunt down old habits to release. Fall is the perfect time to form new routines and to strengthen relationships.

November - BEAVER MOON

THEN: Named for the period when beavers built dams before the ground froze. Otherwise, they would be left without adequate protection.

NOW: Use this energy to dig deep into your emotions and examine what's stopping you from achieving your goals. Take this opportunity to ground yourself and find stability in the earth.

December - COLD MOON

THEN: Named for the season that heralds in days that grow colder and colder. This time also required an adjustment to the longer periods of darkness.

NOW: Use this energy for introspection and stillness. Find warmth and comfort in spending time with those you love. Get cozy and surround yourself with a sense of safety and security.

HARVEST MOON

THEN: Named for the season to bring in the harvest. Tribes used the bright light of this moon to work long into the evening to gather their crops. The harvest moon changes annually because it is chosen as the moon closest to the fall equinox (either Corn or Hunter's).

NOW: Use this energy to appreciate the abundance in your life. Feel a sense of gratitude for all you've been given and be thankful for all your gifts.

BLUE MOON

THEN: Named for the period when a full moon appears twice in one month. This cosmic event typically happens once every 2-3 years, hence the term "once in a blue moon."
