Wolf Full Moon Meditation

Welcome back to another 10-minute meditation. I hope this finds you well in Body, Mind and Spirit. As always, together we will embrace the power, the wisdom and the guidance that the full moon brings.

Tonight is the first full moon of 2024. This is known as the Wolf Moon and it’s a wonderful way to begin a new year with a new mindset – the mindset of the wolf. Wolves are known for their intelligence, their power and their strength. They appear to be untamed and untouched by society.

In fact, when my children were little, I used to call them my “Wolf Pups” because I wanted to remind them to remain wild and free all the days of their lives.

Though they are powerful creatures, wolves also have another side to them. They are fiercely loyal to their pack family and they are caring parents to their young.

With all this in mind, let’s take a look at how we can embrace all the positive attributes of the wolf and incorporate them into our own lives so we can make a powerful start to a new year.

Right now, find a quiet place to relax where you can be free from responsibility and remain undisturbed for our time together.

Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in and let it out very slowly as you feel yourself coming into this present moment. Inhale and hold it for a moment as you gather up everything that no longer serves you. Then, as you exhale, imagine you are releasing all of that into the Universe. Take another deep, deep breath in and as you exhale, drop your shoulders down. And, as you do, imagine all the stress, all the worry, all the anxiety, all the pain, all the obstacles, all the fear running down your arms and out of your body. Surrendering all your troubles to Mother Earth.

Now that you feel relaxed, allow your mind to wander. Keeping your eyes closed, let’s use our mind’s eye instead to take a journey together for a little while…

Imagine yourself deep in the woods. You’re bundled up against the cold air and the snow piled high on the branch where you are perched. You have a bird’s eye view of a large clearing and the brilliance of the full moon above lights your surroundings.

Keenly aware of all your senses while you are in this space, you hear a distant sound. You recognize it as the howling of a wolf. The sound grows louder as the animal rapidly approaches. You see the magnificent animal as it enters the clearing, its proud head held high. Its coat is glistening in the moonlight and you can see its powerful muscles tensed as it surveys the area.

You observe as the wolf tunes into the energy of the space, mindful of what’s around it. You admire its beauty and strength. You notice how the wolf moves with grace and ease, exuding confidence with every step. You admire the sleekness of its body and you recognize the intelligence behind its eyes.

You watch as the creature looks up and lets out a loud howl as it thanks the moon for providing the light to see clearly, and it is also a message to the other wolves now appearing at the edge of the clearing. They trust his judgment and step confidently into the space just below your vantage point.

You have the unique opportunity to witness a different side of these wolves. You see the social interactions between them and sense their strong connection to each other – to their pack family. You notice as two young pups tumble playfully in the center where they are carefully guarded by the elders. You respect the wolves’ loyalty and devotion to those they love and how they effortlessly protect them.

As you enjoy the scene below, you make a commitment to yourself. You are now deciding to embrace the amazing qualities of the wolf. You realize that you, too, can be brave and courageous and independent. You, too, can feel powerful and strong and proud. You, too, can walk through the world sure-footed and confident. You, too, possess intelligence and intuition and clarity because you know your place in the world. You, too, can trust your instinct and feel safe. You, too, can access the brilliance of the full moon at any time because the Light dwells within you. You, too, know you are connected to a higher power guiding you and leading you to become the best version of yourself. You, too, move with the cycles of Mother Nature and have her to nourish you. You, too, connect with Mother Earth and feel her support you. You, too, believe in yourself because you know who you are, never doubting your abilities or your intuitive guidance.

And you, too, can howl at the moon by putting your vibration out into the Universe. So tune into that full moon magic. Set your sights on what you want, raise your vibe and allow all you desire to find its way to you.

Take a moment right now to sit in silence as you tune into the vibration of this vision and the energy of the full moon. Just relax.

As you take another deep breath, you see yourself as the wolf, running wild and free, living life to its fullest and enjoying the moment. And as you exhale you have a feeling of confidence and fulfillment. Knowing this, you feel yourself coming back to the present moment. You feel the surface beneath you. You wiggle your fingers and your toes, grounding yourself.

Take a deep breath in and as you slowly exhale, open your eyes and enjoy a most magical day.
