Welcome back to another 10-minute meditation. I hope this finds you well in Body, Mind and Spirit and I hope that you are ready to embrace the magical power this season brings.

Tonight will be the last full moon of 2023 and it’s known as the Cold Moon. The Cold Full Moon reminds you to stay cool…especially since we’re riding the tail end of Mercury Retrograde. It’s yet another opportunity to be mindful of your current circumstances and to be open to improving them.

This special time of year marks some of our favorite holidays and also the Winter Solstice. The Winter Solstice reminds you to slow down, to relax, to reap what you’ve sown, to assess your progress. Essentially, you must ask yourself this most important question:

What does my Soul want for me?

Because your Soul knows your true worth, your infinite power and your beautiful Light. The Cold Moon is encouraging you to tune into the messages your Soul wants you to hear.

So, let’s take a look at how you can do that now and throughout the new year.

Find a quiet place to relax where you can be free from responsibility and remain undisturbed for our time together.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in and then let it out very slowly as you feel yourself coming into this present moment. Inhale and hold it for a moment as you gather up everything that no longer serves you. Then, as you exhale, imagine you are releasing all of that into the Universe. Take another deep, deep breath in and as you exhale, drop your shoulders down. And, as you do, imagine all the stress, all the worry, all the anxiety, all the pain, all the fear running down your arms and out of your body.

Now that you’re relaxed, and your eyes are closed, you find yourself in a warm, cozy cabin. The fireplace is lit and you have a steaming cup of cocoa in your hands. You’re bundled up in a comfy sweater as you stand by the window, looking outside at the full moon reflecting its brilliant, beautiful light on the fluffy white mountains of snow. You see the branches of the evergreen trees sagging with the weight of it. You feel safe and warm inside.

With your body relaxed, your mind begins to wander. You recall cherished memories of joyful holidays throughout the years. You find yourself excited to create treasured new memories in the coming year. Relaxing even more, you find yourself going deeper and deeper within.

You take a sip of the warm drink, and your mind begins to assess this past year. You think about how much you’ve grown these last twelve months. You recall the successes you’ve had and how elated those experiences made you feel. They gave you the confidence to move forward and they made you eager to pursue new and exciting goals. You can’t wait to see what happens next. You are open to all the possibilities, and you’re thrilled to be a part of the magical energy of this Winter season.

You feel very relaxed, very calm, very much at peace. There is a sense of fulfillment within you that you hadn’t noticed before because of all the external noises and distractions. It’s nice to have a moment to yourself to reflect.

Your mind wanders further and you recall those moments that didn’t go as planned. You think about the struggles and disappointments and frustrations. Though, now, here, in this pleasant setting and at this magical time, you feel no remorse, no guilt, no worry, no regret.

In fact, the love and compassion and kindness you extend to yourself is a welcome change. You feel so at peace because you realize all those circumstances and events happened for a reason – they gave you the opportunity to grow, to improve, to learn, to become an even better version of yourself. You shine grace and gratitude on those memories and you smile. Because now you know you are much stronger, more confident and more capable than ever.

Your eyes shift to the wall opposite where you’re standing. You notice the calendar hanging there. You see there are only a few days left of this year and you realize that each December you are given the unique opportunity to release what no longer serves you so you can wipe the slate clean on January 1st.

You understand you can make changes and you can experience transformations any time of the year but it seems so much more symbolic to toss out the old baggage along with the old calendar.

You are literally giving yourself permission to begin again.

You start thinking…How will I fill in those dates this year? Your potential is limitless. And with all these wonderful thoughts and ideas swirling through your mind like the snow outside the window, you pause a moment to take a deep breath. You breathe in the goodness of the season. You breathe in the magic of this time of the year. You breathe in the joy and love and fulfillment you feel in this moment.

You then make a promise to yourself to add these things to your calendar first

You promise to maintain your health and well-being through moving your body and soothing your mind. You promise to maintain your personal space by removing clutter and keeping everything clean. You promise to maintain your peace through meditation and walks in Nature. You promise to maintain a schedule to prioritize the goals that lead you to build the life of your dreams.

You feel energized by these intentions. With a last sip from your mug, you turn to face the brilliance of the fire. And, as you do, you feel yourself coming back to the present moment. You feel the seat beneath you and you wiggle your fingers and your toes.

With all these uplifting thoughts and this amazing vibration coursing through your veins, you take a deep breath in. As you exhale, you make the decision to keep those promises to yourself. And you promise to claim the time to make your own happiness your top priority.

With another deep breath in, you exhale slowly as you open your eyes…energized, renewed and ready to begin again.
