Your mind is constantly communicating with you. Sometimes you don’t like what it has to say. Other times, it downright scares the bleep out of you. But, mostly its job is to keep you safe. And, in doing so, your mind is offering subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle) messages to

BABY STEP
A mind scan is an effective way to tune in to your busy brain and slow down those racing thoughts. Here’s how it goes:
Grab your body scanning JOURNAL and include these notations for one month:
At the time you choose each day – and before you get up to record your daily body scan – take a slow, deep breath with your eyes remaining closed.
Next, be mindful of the thoughts running through your brain. But do so in a detached way. In other words, watch them as if they were clouds passing overhead. No judgment. No emotional attachment. No action required.
Take another deep breath. Notice how these thoughts are in constant motion. Watch as you allow them to pass through.
Take another deep breath then open your eyes slowly. Remind yourself of this: NONE of these thoughts are intended for you to hold onto. They are merely suggestions of what to think about based on your brain’s association with an event in your current circumstances that is similar to one you’ve already experienced.
Grab your journal and write this same affirmation down after each daily session:
I am smart enough to know peace comes when I willingly let go.
