Listen to your body…or else. Or else the pains and aches and suffering will keep getting louder and louder and louder until you pay attention. So what’s the best advice I can give you?

BABY STEP

Body scanning maybe be simple, but it’s really powerful. You can find out a lot about yourself just by taking a few moments each day to check in and get in touch.

Grab a journal and do this for one month:

  1. Choose the time of day when you typically feel the most pain/aches/stiffness. Close your eyes as you lie in bed.

  2. Take 3 deep breaths. Then mentally scan your body for any discomfort.

  3. Immediately after, ask your body this question: What can I do to make you feel better? Take a moment to listen for/intuit an answer. You may not notice anything in the beginning, but soon you will become more in tune with your Self.

  4. Later, as you go about your day, make a note every time you feel physical pain/aches in a specific area of your body. Just jot down a quick word or two, for example: “lower left leg pain” and include the date.

If you really want to get to know yourself, remember this: The more you know, the more you grow.

And, as a reminder, be a "comforter" to yourself :)
