Day 75 to Fall into Better Habits

Don’t have time to read the whole post? Jump to the Baby Step...

Sincerity is the antidote to jealousy. Even Teddy Roosevelt knew the dangers of jealousy when he said, “Comparison is the thief of joy.”

When we see what others have, it somehow triggers a sense of lack in us, no matter how many blessings we already have. Why? Because we’re not seeing things clearly in that moment.

Through what eyes are we looking?

Are they kind eyes? Are they joyful eyes? Or, are they jealous eyes?

Here’s my two cents for the day in the form of today’s Baby Step.

BABY STEP

If comparison is the thief of joy, then why are we comparing ourselves to everyone else? And, while we’re on the subject, why are we so down on people who have the things we want?

There seems to be an epidemic out there way more dangerous than Co-Vid. Don’t get infected by it. Here’s the antidote.

For the love of God, please stop saying this:

“It must be nice.”

Ugh! Why would you want to make someone else feel badly about their success? You wouldn’t want that to happen to you.

Realize this: It IS nice for them. Let the other person have that joy, that sense of accomplishment, that triumph.

Be happy for them. Because when you are happy for them, then happiness automatically shows up in you.

Today’s Baby Step is simple to understand, but not always easy to do:

Be sincere.

With that being said, I wish you tremendous success and abundance and well-being and laughter and prosperity and happiness and adventure and harmony and love and joy-filled memories. I wish you the fulfillment of your heart’s desire. Most of all, I wish you the peace that comes with realizing just how awesome you already are.

I do. Sincerely.
