Make 2024 the year that you SOAR!

Do you know how to stay focused when accomplishing your goals? How you focus on that goal is an important decision so let’s make that our top priority today. Because whether or not you enjoy bringing to life the items on your Bucket List, time will still pass.

So, a year from now what will you be telling yourself…

“I did it! It was hard but I kept at it, and it feels amazing, not just because I accomplished my goal, but because I’m an even better version of myself now.”

OR

“I wish I’d done what I set out to do. I feel like I keep falling behind, like I’ll never catch up. I guess it’s just not meant to be.”

Snap out of it! Make a promise to yourself right now to NEVER choose the second scenario. This is the year you can begin again whether you’re reading this in January or June. Every day is an opportunity to start fresh, to be a new you.

Remember when we started the Fall Into Better Habits series? It was a massive undertaking and the longest series I’d ever had to plan. I ended up with 110 days’ worth of content I created from scratch. Whew!

Do you recall how we told ourselves that by the end of 2023, we’d change one small habit? Do you remember why we said we’d do that? Why we were willing to take all those Baby Steps? WHY we made the effort?

To feel fulfilled.

Fulfillment NOW means no guilt and no regrets LATER.

What’s your WHY?

Let’s assess what to do about that in today’s Baby Step.

BABY STEP

Since we’re taking a look back at last year (aka last week), let’s take a peek at the reason behind the series we just completed.

Part One - Is the WHY you chose on September 11th (first day of the series) the same WHY you ended up with on December 31st (last day)?

  • If so, was it easy to stay motivated because of the reason you selected?

  • If not, did you find something to keep you more inspired?

Part Two - Is the WHY you are bringing into 2024 the same one?

  • If so, do you still feel inspired by it?

  • If not, do you plan to choose an even better one?

Knowing WHY you do anything in your life is detrimental to your accomplishment of every goal you set. Because unless you have a strong enough reason to do it and a big enough passion to complete it, then it’s just a “someday” dream.

Remember when I told you how I ultimately quit smoking a billion years ago? I’d tried and failed dozens of times. I finally succeeded when my WHY became more powerful than the urge to smoke.

For today’s Baby Step, we are going to prepare ourselves in advance for the upcoming series beginning next week. Take a moment right now to:

Decide upon your WHY…

  • Is this a really strong reason?

  • For whom are you doing it?

Write it down to remember it…

  • Keep it where you can refer to it daily.

  • Recite it out loud to help you stay on track.

Gather some visuals…

  • Create a vision board or round up some photos to stay motivated.

  • Create an affirmation to keep your spirits high. Try this one:

  • “I’m delighted with the progress I’m making.”

Be your own cheerleader:

  • Tell yourself how awesome this journey will be.

  • Pat yourself on the back whether or not you accomplish every aspect of the goal you set.

  • Recognize how far you’ve come along the way – all the new skills you’ve learned, the new mindset you’ve adopted, the new people you’ve met, the massive progress you’ve made.

Then get yourself ready for our first series of 2024…
