Use Mercury Retrograde to totally transform your life (for the better)
Take a (dance) lesson from an unlikely source
MERCURY RETROGRADE

Instead of worrying about what will befall you during this upcoming cosmic event...ironically beginning on April Fool’s Day (circa 2024), you can use Mercury Retrograde to totally transform your life for the better.
And, you can do it by taking a lesson from an unlikely source.
Allow me to explain…
If you attended any catered occasion during the 70’s or early 80’s you were sure to have been dragged onto the dance floor to participate in the dance phenomenon known as “The Hokey Pokey.”
Much like any group dance number, it served no purpose other than to get peeps up out of their seats by shaking their rears and stumbling about. It was easy to do. It was catchy. It was fun. But, did you ever consider that it was a piece of wisdom we could use in this day and age?
Join me as I take you through my theory about that in today’s Baby Step…

BABY STEP
Now that I’ve got that obnoxious tune stuck in your head for the remainder of the day, allow me to explain how a silly little song can help you transform your life (for the better).
Aside from all the putting in and taking out of limbs, let’s focus on the most important message of The Hokey Pokey, which is this:
TURN YOURSELF AROUND
And, that my friend, is what it’s all about.
So, with the onset of yet another Retrograde, let’s use this opportunity for massive change just like Mercury teaches us a few times a year. Let’s turn ourselves around.
More specifically, let’s use today’s Baby Step to turn our minds around. And, since this first Mercury Retrograde of 2024 falls in the season of Spring, let’s go with that theme to illustrate my point. Ask yourself this:
When I enter a beautiful garden, what do I notice first?
Do I drink in the breathtaking array of colors and shapes and textures?
Or, do I notice the tangle of weeds competing for room between the flower beds?
If you want to be eternally happy, “turn yourself around” by practicing this:
Focus on the flowers instead of the weeds.

In other words, turn your attention to what’s going well instead of ruminating about what’s not going as planned.
It’s not that I’m telling you to ignore the weeds (the problems, the issues, the current circumstances). I’m simply suggesting you actively seek out the flowers instead (the epiphanies, the blessings, the million and one things working silently in the background of your life to ensure you’re alive and well on a daily basis).
I’m suggesting you use Mercury Retrograde, along with all your challenging circumstances, as opportunities to actively reflect on your blessings. Then embrace all of your experiences as lessons in order to turn your life around for the better.
Because when you grow a profusion of healthy flowers, then the weeds don’t stand a chance.
So, as you’re going about your day, give thanks for your health, for your family, for your home, for your abundance and for your ability to enjoy that beautiful, plentiful garden inside your head.
And, while you’re at it, take the time (literally) to stop and admire the flowers on your next walk. Then, if your nasal passages allow it, take a nice big sniff as well.
