Overcoming illness – or anything else for that matter – needs to start with this first step if you want to begin the healing process in a non-invasive way.

I’m not offering a cure for anything. What I am offering is a shift in mindset that will assist any medication, therapy or treatment you are currently undergoing.

After all, a positive outlook can help improve any situation.

That positive outlook then sends out positive vibes and brings back to you positive outcomes.

So you feel like your body has betrayed you because you're not operating at 100% capacity. It feels like you’ve felt this way far too long and you feel frustrated. I understand. I've been there a time or two myself.

By now I'm sure you want to know what to do to fight it off and to rush it along. Today we're not going to do either of those things because here's what I know: When we fight against something it becomes more determined to fight back. And rushing is not going to help.

Instead of focusing on illness, we’ll turn our attention to wellness.

So if you're willing to see this as a temporary setback and if you're willing to approach it in a different way, then let's begin. Get comfy - maybe even wrap yourself in a warm blanket - and take three slow deep breaths…as slow and deep a breath as you can right now. The purpose is to focus on the act of breathing not the length or the depth of each breath and whether or not you're doing it perfectly. Remember, this is meant to be relaxing.

Now close your eyes and snuggle into the space you're in. Let your breathing settle. With your eyes closed, I want you to find yourself in a place where you feel safe and secure. A place where your body can relax and receive the comfort it deserves. A place that feels like home.

In this place, you notice a beautiful soft light and your eyes are drawn to it. It's the perfect shade of green, the kind of green that makes you think of tall trees and fresh-cut grass and the delicate buds that first appear on bare branches in Springtime. See this color wrapping itself around you like a soft gentle hug. This green is symbolic of rebirth and growth and reawakening. It's showing up right now to help you through this illness that's come into your life. These symptoms you are experiencing, along with this sense of fatigue and weariness, are simply warning signs asking you to slow down, take it easy.

Take one more deep breath. Breathe in the fresh air. Breathe in the colors around you. Breathe in life. Green reminds you to get back in touch with your Heart Chakra to focus on kindness and compassion and forgiveness and unconditional love for others, and especially for yourself. Green is symbolic of the need to take the time to take better care of yourself, of your health and your well-being. How can you possibly take care of anyone else if you can't take care of yourself? You know overdoing it makes you feel worn down and overwhelmed. Your body is giving you this opportunity to take a break, to allow for rest and renewal. Doing this is as much for your loved ones as it is for you because when you are at full capacity, everybody benefits. You are giving yourself this gift in this moment. You are allowing yourself to tune into your well-being, your balance, your centeredness, your Source…because that is where true wellness lies. Well-being comes from within.

As the green is swirling around, you become more and more aware of how it makes you feel in your body. You can barely feel its touch on your skin but you know it's there working its transformational magic. In your mind you experience a sense of ease, a deep knowing that all is well and that you will soon be on a higher level of health. In your heart you feel a sensation of relief because you are releasing toxins from your body and your mind. The more you relax into this state of ease, you see your heart center opening up to accept the help this color green is offering and your heart is grateful. Your heart is happy because when you enter into a state of acceptance, that is when true healing can begin…the kind of healing that transcends your body and your mind. The kind of healing that reconnects you to the Divine within you.

Now that the essence of green has entered your heart you feel it slowly, lovingly enter into your lungs as gently as a whisper. You feel the power of this color fortifying your lungs and making them strong, and at the same time, you feel its gentle movement as it wipes away anything blocking your state of well-being. You feel it winding its way throughout your body passing through every cell. You feel your immune system embracing the color green to assist in bringing you to a place of balance and wholeness. Your body begins to feel warm - the warmth that comes with a sense of contentment. You relax into your body. You allow your body to work its magic. Your body always knows exactly what to do. You trust the process. You feel the magic happening. You feel the rhythm of the energy moving in and out and around. And then, suddenly, you let out a deep sigh of relief. You feel your body sink into the surface as you release the burdens and the blockages and the worry and the sorrow and the fear. Now rest for a moment in this Sacred Space of perfect alignment with the Divine Source within you. Listen to the music and let it wash over you as it soothes you.

As you breathe, deeper and deeper with each inhalation and with each exhalation, you feel such a pure sense of alignment. You feel light because you remember you are light. In this moment you feel your body radiating health and well-being and you are filled with a sense of love and gratitude. You breathe easier. You feel better. You are energized. Right now, you feel such an extraordinary sense of ease and feeling this way, you promise yourself that you are now committed to remaining focused on your self-care because you deserve to feel healthy and beautiful and revitalized. You promise yourself that you are now committed to remaining focused on your self-love because you deserve to treat yourself with acceptance and kindness and respect. You promise yourself that you are now committed to remaining focused on your self-worth because you deserve to experience joy and love and laughter and abundance.

You smile because you finally - and maybe for the first time ever - believe that you are deserving of all of this and so much more, so much more.

With this sense of peace and contentment in your heart, and a sense of well-being in your body, and a sense of ease in your mind, you feel yourself coming back to this physical place transformed. You are different now. You feel it. You know it.

You wiggle your fingers and your toes. You take a deep breath in and as you exhale very slowly and very mindfully, you set the intention to love yourself enough to do what it takes to remain in this state of well-being and pure bliss because

You are worth the effort.

Now take another deep breath in, and as you exhale, open your eyes. And with your new and improved vision, see the beauty all around you. And when you're ready, get up very slowly and enjoy a most magical and healthy day.
