You may not be able to miraculously heal the pain in your body all at once, but you can definitely work on feeling a little relief one Baby Step at a time.

Because once you get to the ROOT of your pain, then you can stay sane.

BABY STEP

This Buddhist saying perfectly describes the duality of the Root Chakra:

“Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.”

We’ve all experienced pain. But how often do we hold onto it and mull it over time and time again?

The Root Chakra has a very important function in helping break this habit. It’s always trying to guide you back to feeling comfortable…in your body, in your environment, in the world.

Pain offers the “dis-comfort” intended to literally nudge you back to a place of feeling better.

The longer you ignore the warning, though, the more intense the discomfort becomes. Taking note of any discomfort you’re feeling helps you figure out patterns. Which, in turn, helps you get to the root of your pain.

So, in addition to using your Chakra Scan journal, here’s the most helpful tool I have found in releasing the frenetic energy swirling around pain. It’s simple, it’s easy and it’s free.

STEP OUTSIDE.

That’s it. That’s all it takes to feel an immediate sense of relief. Mother Nature has an amazing calming effect that you can feel the moment you take your first deep breath of fresh air.

You don’t need to trek up the side of a mountain. You don’t need to strap a kayak to the roof of your car. You don’t need to wander long, winding paths in the woods. You don’t need to invest in skis or skates or sailor hats.

Simply BE in the moment:

  • Look around and enjoy the wondrous sights.

  • Feel the playful vibe the flowers are sending your way.

  • Close your eyes and tilt your face to the sun.

  • Take off your shoes and stand in the grass (check for anthills first, my Florida peeps!).

  • Imagine yourself as a tree with your roots sinking deep into Mother Earth.

Be the tree. Be the Qi.

Then repeat this magical affirmation as you feel yourself release anything and everything preventing you from feeling stable and grounded and secure and bold.

CHAKRA CLEARING

I CLEAR MY ROOT CHAKRA – at the level of my BODY – with tenderness and kindness and compassion as I courageously let go what no longer serves me, especially from my past. And, I now intend to ground myself in Mother Earth’s supportive energy to welcome in loving, wonderful, happy new memories instead. And so it is :)
